The group was established before Yahoo ID’s were needed I guess. Need email commands the owner can use to add a moderator or pass ownership on to another user. Is there an email command reference list?

I’m interested in posting a few starter topics, but not all of the expected members have responded to their invitations yet. Some of these new members will probably opt to be email-only users. Is there a way to have them receive emails with traffic that’s already posted in these starter topics? Or any other way to make sure they get them?

Thanks.

We are a professional theatre company, and have just started using Yahoo groups to distribute the production calendar and contact lists. The problem is that sometimes there are as many as 8 to 10 calendar events on one day, many only affecting only a few members, and if the whole group gets every reminder, I know some people will opt out of the group rather than have their inbox flooded with emails telling them information that they already know, or that does not apply to them. We only want to view the calendar on the web, and not receive email reminders.

I created a restricted group.

People sent emails to subscribe…
Under management I can see their email requests but I do not know how to authorize them
There are 5 people who sent emails to subscribe.

None of them are pending members, yet none of them are members
I tried to answer the person who answered my question.

I do not see these people under pending

I started a Yahoo group and several of the members have asked that their emails not be shown. I looked under management settings and it says that members cannot opt to have their email addresses hidden. What do I do? I also tried to set up another group and couldn’t find a place in the setup for this option. I would **** to lose these members. Please help. Thanks.

In a Yahoo Group I moderate, the group’s email address is automatically being entered into the “send to” field when a member hits “reply” after reading a group email, surprising and embarrassing that member, since they only intended to reply to the sender of the original message. How can I change that?

I have two Yahoo groups, both with the same settings, but emails received from each present differently. Both groups are set to receive “individual, traditional” emails. However, one group shows links underlined and in blue text, the older group only displays links as the URL and then the URL is duplicated and in parentheses. For example, _http://www.llccfoundation.org/f/9-20broc…
(http://www.llccfoundation.org/f/9-20broc…

It’s distracting. Also line feeds aren’t as reliably presented in this group, as paragraphs will sometimes run together.

Both groups are newsletters, sent to different yahoogroup subscribers originating as a text email from the same computer emailed at the same time via CC address to both yahoogroup addresses and received and viewed by the same computer, but the emails are displayed differently even when viewed on the same computer. So it’s not the email software or computer sending or reading the messages that’s at fault, when they’re one and the same.
Windows XP SP-2 OS and AOL 9.0; however, if you go to the yahoogroups website and log in to read the mail via its web-based interface, the same situation develops. One group’s emails look fine and the other group’s look a little jumbled with the duplicated URL and missing line feeds between paragraphs.

In the yahoo group I manage, when one sends an email to the group, that sender does not get a copy of that email. How do I set the preferences so the sender receives a copy of the email they sent?
