The only way you can get a free email opt in list is by actually starting one yourself. And it can take you a while to build a list — unless you buy a list.

Buying a list, however, opens you to a whole new different complication, the worst of which is to be reported as a spammer to your Internet ISP and web host because they are not expecting you to contact them. Your ISP can terminate your account (if you are not sued), and your web host can shut down your website.

If you have a website you need to have a form where people can signup for whatever you want them to sign up for — be it a regular newsletter or by asking buyers whether they actually want to be contacted regarding future deals.

It takes a while to build an email list. Focus first on other ways of marketing - because if the list you get is not opt in, you’d be branded as a spammer and that’s one of the worst mistakes that you can do while you are starting.
