My boyfriend and I are trying to save money by shopping at BJ’s and Sam’s Club. I know things like bread a meat can be frozen, we also get things like tp and paper towels there, but what other items are good to buy in bulk? And can items like cheese be frozen for consumption later?

yes, you can buy the big bag of shredded cheese and freeze it. I actually split it up into smaller quart size freezer bags and then freeze them all. They thaw perfectly well - no freezer burn or weird taste/texture.

yep you can freeze almost anything. i get meat there at Sam’s. The quality is a little better than at Kroger, and it is usually cheaper. I double bag, or individually wrap what I am freezing, then put it in a gallon sized freezer bag.

Just about all fruits can be frozen without any problems but it will make them softer and juicier.
Pasta and rice will keep without any problems in the pantry.
Fresh veggies like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and green beans will need to be blanched (dipped in boiling water for a couple of minutes until they wilt a bit) but they keep nicely in the freezer. Onions and peppers can be chopped and sealed into bags and frozen for later use. Look in the freezer section of the grocery store for all of the foods that can be frozen.
Milk can be frozen as well, but you don’t want to leave it in there more than a couple of months or it will separate. Butter freezes extremely well. I always freeze mine.
I would suggest that you take your meat out of its original packaging. The plastic wrap they use at the store isn’t thick enough to prevent freezer burn.
